The ProTone wire locator includes a tone generator that can connect to network, phone and other cables, and a tracer that detects and identifies both the generated signals and 50/60Hz AC waveforms as well.
Use the ProTone locator kit to identify specific wires in bundles or cable runs, or to determine whether a power line is hot or not without contacting it. Thanks to attached alligator clips, the tone generator can be used for all wire types, but it has plugs for specifically testing telephone and network lines too. |

The standard unit 9988M reports any "discovery" voltage and can test a PoE
injector for full power. In addition, the Power Panel gives you
information about what type of devices are connected, speed of
data connections, and Ethernet pair wiring. The unit includes
two interactive buttons to exercise both switches and power. The 9988N offers all features of standard unit plus DSL tone sensing capabilities. The Inline version 9988O can do all of the standard unit, plus gather additional information that is only possible to discover when it is connected in-between 2 network devices. |
